Dash0's Great Lakes database was overusing tokio::task::block_in_place, which accounted for a surprisingly large amount of both CPU usage and write latency. In this talk, Brennan will discuss how we pinpointed the issue using our Continuous Profiling product, how we fixed it, and what it means for other resource-conscious Rust users.
