Temporal’s Rust SDK normally powers durable applications on servers—not conference badges. We got it running on a mass-produced ESP32-S3 wearable with 16 MB of flash, 8 MB of PSRAM, four buttons, and an 8×8 LED matrix. In five minutes, I’ll show how we squeezed the Temporal Rust SDK into that environment, connected physical input to a durable Workflow, and turned Workflow state into blinking hardware. It’s a story about Rust on constrained devices, the assumptions hidden inside server-side libraries, and what happens when “durable execution” has to fit around a battery.
